Girlstudio is a network of far-out female artists who work as a team to create wonderfully inventive photos lead by Julia Carpenter. Ms. Carpenter is an award winning photographer originally from Los Angeles, whose work has been exhibited a number of times on both the West and East coasts, and more recently in the Southeast. She was formally trained at Brooks Institute of Photographic Arts and Sciences in Santa Barbara, California. Julia sells her fine-art photography in galleries and online, and also has loads of experience working in concert photography, entertainment promotional photography and she specializes in retro fifties pin-ups. She also works on commercial photos, with eclectic clients including art groups, individual performing artists, magazines, newspapers and CD artwork for various indie bands and quite a few record companies. Julia currently works and resides in Nashville with her husband and two fantastic daughters.
